(so it's been over two months since my last post - blame terrible lighting in winter and my complete lack of interest in anything other than christmas shopping!)
Just before Christmas, me and Jordan took a trip to Portobello Road to try and find some festive clothes and records. I was after a navy Barbour jacket (Jordan inherited my last one - which I found in a charity shop for a mere 30 pounds) but unfortunately I couldn't justify spending £70+ on one when I know they can be found in charity shops relatively easily!
It was still lovely to go up to Notting Hill, I've only been once and not had a proper look, and it was really lovely! Annoyingly, we went a bit late in the day and a lot of my photos didn't come out, so a lot of the stalls I saw and markets we found didn't get snapped. I didn't realise that if you just walk a bit further up Portobello Road, it gets very posh and very pretty. I felt a bit silly for never having been before, considering I've lived in London for 19 years (and my love of the film Notting Hill).
I don't really do New Year's resolutions, I always forget about them and feel terrible when I remember about 3 months later, but I definitely want to take more photos this year. I've got three cameras which I'm absolutely in love with, and can't wait for the weather to perk up a bit so I can use them again! I write for a fab zine called PebbleZine, and the photography is so lovely, I'm hoping to contribute to that at some point or another as well.
70 pounds or same thing from charity shop...hmmm easy choice! that place must be a bit overpriced, even if it is nice...And yeah I don't really do resolutions much either, why wait till a new number to make a change in your life? Plus there is always such a focus on what you did wrong, what flaws you have about some resolutions which makes me not that keen...it's like does everyone really need to go on a rigid diet? Calm down everyone! But something specific and probably achievable and good like take more photos seems a better approach, you take those photos!
ReplyDeletethat christmas cardigan is so cute haha.
ReplyDeleteGosh, I would do anything to come across a Barbour jacket for £30 but knowing my luck that is not going to happen :-(
